Okay, not really. But it was windy! Dust clouds were seen OUTRUNNING the cars that made them! Yeah, that windy! Bill Martin's innovative dual course - two mirror-image courses set up ProSolo style - worked exceptionally well! Each course was just over a minute in length, and he was able to get 8 runs (4 per side) for each person for 8-12 minutes of seat time per person.

Glen Helen 1 is in the books. In one word - Awesome! Dave's triple loop course worked flawlessly; the FRX scoring system worked smoothly; the course didn't break down too badly; and we got cleaned up and out of there before it got too late.

Soak City 1 (Chula Vista - San Diego) has been postponed. The event, scheduled for February 28, has been postponed to a date TBD. In addition, the other two scheduled dates, March 28 and April 18, have been canceled "due to conflicting events/attractions that further impact the availability of core workers (timing/scoring) and competitors alike." This will cause at least one other event to change its date - likely to cover the March 28th date - details will come for that one. Stay tuned!

The '09 rallycross season kicked off with a combined rally school and rallycross in Ridgecrest. The rallycross served as a chance for Saturday's students to put their new skills to the test, and the CRS rallycross opener for the rest of us. Rain had dampened the site. . .a good thing since the watertruck broke down and we had to do with natural moisture. Ray put on his typical well-received course with numerous hairpins and lobes separated by two significant straights which got my EvX into 3rd gear. As usual, the course deteriorated throughout the day and a few cars were seen to collect a little air when they didn't seek out the smoothest route. Top time for the event was Keith Jackson, WRX (R4), the other class winners being: Dave Haws, 2.5rs (M4), Bill Martin, EvX (S4), Odi Bakchis, Talon (R2), Steve Lechuga, Subaru XT (M2), and Rental-Guy Sappington, Sentra (S2).
